She knocked on my door today looking sheepish. She handed me the corkscrew I gave her and said she was so upset that she couldn't get the cork off. I praised her because usually she knocks and says she can't get the cork out at all, and the cork is already shredded in the bottle by her attempts at it. This time she nailed the cork right down the middle. She got it out. She had her wine last night. But the cork was good and stuck all the way down the screw. I couldn't even twist it off. I couldn't find my hammer. I ended up taking a butter knife and my big marble pestle and I pounded and pounded on it until I could break it apart and finally I got it off in many tiny pieces. She was over at my place for quite awhile.

(by then corks will probably not even be used anymore, though)
You are such a good neighbor Peter.
It reminds me of an old Steve Martin joke.
