Have you heard about changing back to the old Gather?

I hate this change.  I thought i'd get used to it by now, but I still hate it.  I don't understand it, and have lost so many connections.  I try to comment on people who comment on my stuff, but that seems so self serving.  I like to read everything but find it hard with this format.  I think I've been patient.  I want the old Gather back or some improvements to this one.

I joined right around the time of the change, so I really don't know what the difference is. I wish I knew more about the old vs the new.

I've also lost many of my connections. For a time I avoided Gather but I came to miss the people and the opportunity to learn from other's writing.

I think we will have to live with it, they never change back, I wonder why they even ask about what we like, I think those must be member articles and non-official. Personally, I figure it will be okay once I get the hang of it.

I too am in mourning, Carol. I have workarounds, but I don't like the fact that I have workarounds for a site that used to be user-friendly and easy to navigate.

I have lost many connections as well and understand what you are saying. I do like some of the old features and some of the new...I do think changes should be made yet.

Tom (or Pam) or somebody said specifically, that we would NOT be going back. Tom said there were some changes coming in May (try to hold down on the groans) that would HELP us navigate Hawthorne better.

I can navigate it just fine. I just dislike it. People are getting fewer comments and several have left. It takes so much more clicking to get to things, that I don't spend the amount of time here that I used to spend.

I don't really care for the new format...and I haven't been here trying to sort it out much, either. :o\

Carol they said point blank they are not reverting back.

who cares who pinged who and who just became friends. blah blah blah Where are the old articles everyone, including me, posted? Why do we have to republish to spot light our articles? Why can't we permanently choose "articles" for what searches up on our "feed" and what the heck does feed mean anyway. If I ever catch any of my stuff out on Google I'm out of here. To me, I hold the copyright and nobody has a right to post my stuff elsewhere.

I remember a while back someone saying the word upgrade doesn't necessarily mean better, different might be a better term.

Sandy your beef would have to go to Gather first. It's in the sign up agreement that they may use your stuff. Not necessarily other members, I'm not sure about that, some people don't like it.
