I'm heading into Barrie to teach a class in Understanding Your Computer... and yes, it is as basic as it sounds. It is a 6 week course that basically starts from This is a mouse. It has two buttons... Yes, I know, some have more... but I try not to confuse them right off the bat.
It is a fun course for me to teach, actually - because I am a programmer... or was, anyway ... and tend to speak geek at times... teaching this course once a year has been good for me.... prevented the geekspeak from taking hold.
It is fun to take people from intimidated as hell to confident and capable.
And this is probably the last time that I will ever teach it. Might as well have fun with it, right?
Anyway ...I was writing about my walk - not about my class... I would have gone out for one during the day today, but it is raining, and I am just not quite THAT committed to walking every day!
But I did go last night... Suey and I did. We took Scrooge and walked up to meet Ross. Along the way, I stopped and tried to take pictures of the trilliums.
And we checked out the progress the guy on the corner is making with his totem pole. He's done quite a bit on the Indian side.
But seems to have messed up the poor bear's face! I've been waiting and waiting for the bear to get his second ear done.

Now there isn't even wood left for it.
Oops... here's Ross already... we didn't leave early enough.... or we dillydallied with the camera.... or perhaps its his fault cuz he cheated by taking the bike!

If he'd walked, it would have been about perfect timing.
Time to head back

The sky really isn't all this dark... but just in one area....

I liked the clouds...

And an hour or so later, the sunset:

The water was just gorgeous.

I find that I want to do more and more of them, but I have to stop myself. I have to remember that I like to communicate with my words, and if I just let the photos speak for me, I'll lose whatever edge I have.
The totem pole reminds me that I want to take pictures of a house about a half a mile from us. This guy carves totems like crazy. They're all over the outside of his property, but none of them are for sale. Makes the crazy, howling beagle lady from next door quite appealing.
BTW, I tried very hard for years to understand my computer. I even placed it on the couch and I sat in the other chair with my back facing it and then we did the Freud thing, all to no avail. Any suggestions?
Thanks for posting this to =Sky Shots=!
Actually, I think being back at the store is dragging him down... he was much happier working around here and feeling like he was accomplishing ~stuff~
Hanging around in a store nobody much visits is pretty draining :(
