Sinking in

The other night we met at the Double Wide Grill in South Side for another bonding session. It was a little more crowded than usual for a Monday night, due to surrounding tables celebrating cinco de mayo, but that did not stop us from getting down to business. We ate delicious food, chatted about the trip, and for the first time, Bill had the camera rolling.

I've been focusing so much on the camping aspect of this trip that I forgot video cameras were also documenting it. Already the camera captured me in my filthy splendor. I had gone straight to the restaurant after working out, wearing a hoodie and sweatpants.

At one point during the meal I turned to Dena to say something to her, but I suddenly drew a blank when I saw a camera lens, recording footage of the piece of a chicken burrito I had just messily put into my mouth. I must admit my table etiquette has always been lacking. However, I put much more thought into the act once I saw that I was being taped.

But I guess I'll have to get used to it. Camping out and living on the road does not usually result in people looking their physical best, or doing the daintiest activities.

Finally this trip is not only tangible, but also each factor is slowly sinking in. Some of the things we are going to face we are coming across now.
