This is a school (middle and high, I think), so you know--students will protest. Someone said something about solar panels coming and tree being in their way, but that's just hearsay--the question still remains:

Why?

Somehow, cutting up trees so that we can use solar panels seems skewed. What do they think trees do? they convert the sun into energy and convert CO2 to O2 in the process.

A few years back, the people running for office locally ran on claims of a "green" vision for our area. Once elected, they began handing out the "development" permits and what were once green spaces filled with butterfly habitat are now blacktopped parking lots surrounding new, vacant buildings. Trees are endangered here, yet we donate money to protect the rainforest....
