Michigan street lights.

Ok I am annoyed a little bit by the recent state project. It was decided that michigan is going to install new street lights. The news said that OTHER states use an arrow for left turns versus a blinking yellow light like we use in Michigan. Michigan state representatives said it confuses travelers when they come to Michigan. So the state rep's decided they are going to change all the street lights. My problem is Michigan is NOT a big tourist state. Our economy is failing. Right now would be better if they would fix the awful roads then replacing street lights THAT WORK FINE! I do not understand why Michigan would waste all the funds changing out lights that work. Why not use the money to FIX the roads ...  change out old street signs .. and beautify the state some. This way the state would be more appealing to travelers. Right now our roads are like trying to drive thru a war zone. Giant pot holes and pits in the roads. I broke a shock the other night by hitting a pot hole that I didn't see until it was to late. I am not the only one. The wear and tear on our cars from the roads here is pathetic. Before they waste money on lights that we don't NEED they should use it to fix the streets. Uggg ... anyone else in Michigan think its stupid they are changing all the lights? Some of the lights I have seen them replace are only a few years old. This is why this state is so messed up. Instead of using the money for something that is going to benefit the residents of the state they thinks of the tourists ..... WHAT TOURISTS?  Michigan is not a big tourist attraction. I don't understand it .... do you?
