I got my driveway and sidewalk today!

I finally got my driveway and side walk poured today!  Concrete!!!! Looks great. The men were still working when I had to leave for work but they finished a section for me so I could write my families last name and the date on it! I am so excited. I can't wait to go home and see it dry! The guys who came out did an awesome job. They have been doing cement for 15 years or more each of them. They were quick and neat and the job was looking great when I had to leave. I was wishing I had some money right now though so they could pour my concrete for my dogs kennel too. It would save me money in the long run if I had it to pay them now because then I would not have to have a whole new truck come out. Oh well .. guess I will have to wait on that!

Now that I have the sidewalk and driveway in this weekend I can plant my flower beds!  Yippie!!!!

I want flowers that spread and come back every year ... any suggestions? Something colorful and pretty.

One of my neighbors is giving me some. He said his keep growing and spreading and growing and spreading. He is a sweet older retired gentleman! He is making up a big box for me and the kids to plant! He said he has some flower bushes for us too. I thought that was so sweet of him he came over and offered us flowers! He said a lot of them he didn't plant in his yard they just showed up and spread! .. Awesome!

Daylilies and Blackeyed Susans both come back year after year. If you have shady spots, hostas come in a lot of varieties and colors. Congrats on getting your sidewalk and driveway in!

That's great about the driveway. You really needed that instead of that big pile of sand that you couldn't park on. I'll bet the sidewalk is nice too.
Daylilies ae great for coming back & needing to be divided as they get larger. Same with hosta's, tall Phlox (spreads every year though!), Hydrangeas get bigger every year.

great. enjoy your new driveway and sidewalk. as for the flowers, plant bulbs. they come back every year. I have tulip bulbs and lily bulbs planted.
