While walking along the moat around Big Pond looking for that Snapping Turtle the Redwing Blackbirds jeered at me again:

And in the grass by the moat all sorts of wildflowers grow, like Springcress:

and Ground Ivy:

Okay, so Blackbirds and wildflowers are a just reward for wandering along the moat, but I still wanna see that Snapper!
Across the road and down the Cliff Walk, I took photos of more wildflowers and songbirds, but I also got some shoreline shots, including these two black & white shots:

Heal-all grows in dense patches along the Cliff Walk. It's in the Mint family and closely related to the Ground Ivy we saw over by the moat:

This stone point by Salve Regina University has always fascinated me:

I got lots of shots of Song Sparrows today. These next two are the best of the lot. No it's not the same shot converted to b&w; I patiently waited for the bird to sing a second time to get the b&w shot. I know they look like the same shot, but I promise you they're different!

On the way home I stopped at the grocery store. I was walking down Weaver Avenue when I heard a familiar cry. Looking up, I saw that the Ospreys had returned to the nest on the broadcast tower at Toppa Field. I don't know if this is Mama or Papa (male and female Osprey look alike; the female is bigger, but I didn't have a second Osprey for comparison):

And that's today's crop of pictures!
