One day I saw a bee in the garden at the zoo. I stopped to take some photos. Soon I realized that this fella was sleeping... on the petals of a cone flower. I took advantage of the opportunity to take some extra close shots of him (or her) fast asleep.
Tip-toe along with me but shhhhh don't wake the bee.

Since I've gotten a digtital camera, and come to Gather I've stopped to look at the smaller things closer. Tha macro mode really opens up a new world to us all. Just look he's hugging that flower like it's his little teddy bear!

Here's a better look at his leg over the top of the flower.

I'm not sure where the blue tones in this came from, but I like it. It's got a dreamy feel.

A bit further away shot of his asleep.

Getting in a bit closer to check out his back.

And in to check out his furry backside.

Moving a bit closer to the front of his body. Let's see that face.

Aww and one last photo before we leave the bee to his dreams.

All photos taken at sunset last year with my HP Photosmart M425 5MP camera. No editing done to any of these aside from cropping for detail.
