I was only 18 when I got married and like your first marriage it was hell too. He was emotionally and physically abusive .... were divorced now and I hope I will find 'the one' for me soon.

I didnt want to get married, but in the 50,s and 60,s if you were not married at or by 18 they thought something was wrong with you. My Mom and grandma pushed until I said eney meny mney moe, and got married, Never was happy with him. We never agued. Still dont hate each other. Divorced after 10 years. I really wanted some time to myself after getting out of school, before setteling down, cant go back now.
I had a "warm up marriage" too. I was 25 when I first married. That lasted nine years, eleven months and ten days. I was 36 when I remarried. 13 years and couldn't be happier.
I don't think it has so much to do with age, but with maturity. My husband and I got married a bit sooner than we actually wanted to but we were both in the Navy and were afraid of the service separating us......which they almost did even after we were married!
To answer your question........he was barely 20 and I was 19......still married, it will be 34 years come August!
(To demonstrate what I mean by maturity.....we both knew we were too young to be having children and made the conscience choice not to have any right away.)
I was 18 (1 month and 13 days) before my 19th birthday. Aug. 31 will be 12 years that we have been married. Most of the time has been wonderful, but like all others we have had our times. NEVER abuse, I have been blessed with a loving husband.
I was 18 the first time (HUGE!!!!!! mistake) lasted 6 months. 21 the second time and I got lucky found the love of my life (5 Yrs. in July). We have had our ups and downs NEVER ever physical but we always whave worked through it.
I was 29 when I got married but we started dating when I was 21. We are still married now. Will be 9 years come this October and we've been together for almost 17 years.

Second time, I was 30. Now, we're married 6 1/2 years, been together over 9 years total. Life is sweet the second time around. : )
