Before & After: back piece tattoo in process, session 4

My husband has been working on getting a back piece, which is a family theme - him, his brother and his parents all riding on their Harleys with the Three Sisters mountains (located in Central Oregon) behind them. There's also 3 little bikes on the road behind them, and they're our 3 sons!

I completely spaced out taking a photo of his 2nd session, but these photos will give you an idea of how it's coming along! This will all be in color too, this is just outlining and shading.

All work has been done by a talented tattoo artist here in Salem, Oregon.

Thanks, Krissy - I think it's pretty cool too. Such a sweet thing to memorialize his parents, brother and our children on his body.

I love the work. Very nicely done.

I have a couple of tattoos. One is at the base of my neck, its an OM symbol.
The next one is a set of vines under the OM. I will be adding to that, two blue butterflys for my sons, two pinkflowers for my daughters-in-law and then 7 smaller items for my grandchildren and I think, a lotus blossom for Bill.

My son does all my tats for me. He is very talented.

That's cool. No tattoos here, I always thought that if I were to get one, I'd get one on my back of a little girl kneeling in a bed of flowers smelling them. There's a story behind that one too but maybe someday I'll write about it. Tattoos are probably never going to happen though ...their expensive pieces of art!

Yes he certainly is talented. I have one tattoo, and I've been thinking of getting another one done. From what I've heard the amount of pain, if there is any pain; depends on where it is. Mine didn't hurt a bit.

Wow, that is seriously impressive!!! I love, love, love the theme here and what a great artist! I hope you'll keep us update with photos so we can see it fully colored.

Wow, the artist is very talented! That is coming along very nicely.
I just have home-made tattoos that were so cool to do when I was a teenager. Now I hate them all. Not that I wouldn't want a tattoo, I just regret the ones I did get.
I have a heard on my forearm that I would like to get changed into a butterfly, and I almost did so in Costa Rica, but ran out of time to get it done...

I am too afraid of needles to get tattooed, but I definitely can appreciate the artistry that goes into designing and executing amazing tattoos like your hubby's! That's such cool work.

WOW - that's a LOT of hours in the tat chair! I've only got one little tat on my shoulder. A memoriam for a high school friend who's now gone.

Very nice work. I have a caeltic cross on my right calf, a sun with my kids b-days symbols around it on my other calf and a wolf on my right arm.

That's awesome. I have four tats. I have a frog on the inside of my right leg, at the bottom. I have a butterfly on my lower back, a rose band on my left arm, and an iris with my sones name under it on my right shoulder. My boyfriend started his back piece. He was done with his 2nd session,, and then the guy that was doing it was in an accident on his motorcycle, and is paralyzed now...poor guy. So, needless to say, his back piece is unfinished.

I am just to chicken to get a needle stuck in me. I nearly faint at the doctors office when they draw blood. That is a talented guy who does the tats, I will just appreciate them and like Krissy stay chicken.

If I ever got one it would be or have been when I was in my 30,s I thought then I may want a small butterfly on an inner thigh.

Hey, very cool, Faith! Can't wait to see it in color. Heck no I don't have any tattoos! I am a huge baby!! I got c-sections because labor scared me! LOL Yeah, I'd rather be sliced open than push a baby out my you-know-what. LOL Now that's pretty bad. Hehe.
