There is a church on Manor Street in Bakersfield, California that has a HUGE rummage sale every year in May. And I'm talking really huge, not one of the yard sales that people say "Huge Sale" and they really hardly have anything. This sale is my favorite sale of the year. When I worked outside the home, I requested that day off so I could go to it. It's for two days, Friday and Saturday. On Friday it starts at 6 am and I usually get there at 5 am so I can be one of the first few people. This ensures that I get a good parking spot AND get one of the few carts they have. This year though, I had to get there late at around 5:45 because my Mom had surgery a few weeks ago and definately was not up to watching the kids. I asked my grandpa if he would come over and he came to our house at 5:30 am and I went to the sale with my grandma and my middle son (last year my oldest son got to go and this year my middle son wanted his turn).
At 5:45 am the line was already VERY long but we were able to find a not to bad parking space. I had brought one of those little carts on wheels since i knew the carts would be long gone. Every year, I go to the same area first... toys! The kids don't really need more toys but I can't bring myself to go to any other area first because I like toys too. :D My next stop would usually be books but I went to the clothing because they were having a real bargain. Kids clothes were 50 cents each, even jeans! I needed some clothes for my oldest son and found quite a few for him.
I brought my camera but you know what i forgot to do...take pictures. Sigh... So I can't show you just how huge this sale is because I was to busy finding bargains. :)
I spent $48 dollars on everything you see in the pictures. Usually I don't spend that much at sales because it isn't in our budget but this sale I try to make sure I have some spending money because I know for sure I'll find great stuff.
To break it up a little more, $13 dollars was for a HUGE bag of clothes, $5 dollars was for Halloween Jewelry (hey what can I say, I love Halloween) and $30 dollars was for the rest.
Here are the pictures of my finds today:

Me and my new witchy friend. It's a witch on a stick. You can't really tell but I am wearing a Court Jester hat.

A Halloween decoration I was pleased to find. You can put a light inside the ghost to light it up. It stands a little higher then my knee and cost $1.

A set of four Thomas Trains (only three pictured) for .50 cents.

Some trucks and a small Jay Jay the Jet Plane (which I find ugly but my youngest likes it). The trucks were .50 and .25 cents.

A Halloween Metal bucket (that came new in box). You can put a candle in it and it will shine through the front. Also a little picture that I've already hung up. I like what it says on it. I think you can read what it says.

I picked up some Halloween books for my Halloween Book Collection (see a theme here) as well as some for the kids.

.25 cent toy for my youngest son.

Two Halloween items for me me me.

1 teacher knick knack for .50 cents. I don't see anything wrong with it and I can give it to my middle son's 1st grade teacher. The other is a little glass plaque that i can give to my dad for his birthday or christmas.

A roll of stickers that I can put in the end of school year goody bags and some huge clip on Halloween earrings. They are spiderwebs with a spider and a fly. They're actually to heavy to really stay on your ears so maybe I'll do a craft with them.

For .25 cents, I really like this necklace.

Dragon toy .50 cents

This ribbon is beautiful and sadly you can't tell that from the picture. It was new and it will work with my Halloween costume.

2 Halloween headbanks, light stick, halloween pins, glitter spider rings still new in plastic. This was some of the stuff that you got to fill up a big bag for $1

Some new Easter necklaces, bracelet and pin.

Some horse stuff for my Mom. One is a Hallmark ornament. Two are Breyer horses (great find!)

A Magnet that I really like (I clean my house every other day. THIS IS NOT THE OTHER DAY) and then some more Halloween stuff that was part of the $1 bag.

A Halloween lid that is supposed to fit on a glass container but I will use it as a regular decoration (.25 cents), a bag of cupcake toppers (that I'll probaby stick in a pumpkin) and some other misc Halloween stuff that was in the $1 bag we filled.

These are so pretty in person and they all say something like Smiles are Contagious, etc. Two are missing from this picture. I can't remember where I put them (I just bought them and lost them, sad I know). They were actually my favorite ones "Time Heals" and "Our Family Grows Love." Most of these I will give to different people at Christmas.

1 new pen that moves it's eyes when you right and a pencil sharpner globe (both from the fill a bag for $1). One book and one 3rd grade level workbook that I'll let my soon to be 2nd grader go through this summer.

More goodies from the fill a bag for $1. 4 new packages of stickers that I can use for this Halloween's goody bags, a pumpkin necklace, a light stick and a witch that goes up and talks when you push a button.

1 new package of cutlery, some wall stickers (.50 cents) and a little kids cookbook that is from the fill a bag for $1.

2 sets of pumpkin Halloween bags and a witch pin.

More spider rings, a new squishy apple, and a pad of paper in a shoe shape from the fill a $1 bag, a book, and magnets (one with the religious verzion of how the candy cane came to be).

New plates and napkins (I couldn't pass up the change to eat off of Johnny Depp).

4 like new Christmas stockings and two Halloween pin wheels that I'll stick in the ground before Halloween.

A new pack of Dora jumbo pencils (.25) and a new role of Curious George wrapping paper (it's thick too).

Two sound books that I think are like new for my youngest son.

A Christmas ornament for my Uncle. There were several with different names but his was the only name of someone I knew (well I did see one that had someone's name from Gather lol).

This is more stuff that we got when we filled a bag for $1. The Planet book was not part of the $1 deal. this was stuff for my oldest son.

Yet more stuff from the fill a bag for $1 (except the book). This was stuff my middle son mostly picked out for himself.
The next three pictures is Halloween necklaces, pins, earrings and bracelets. It was .10 each and $5 for the whole bag. I can use it for decoration, put it in goody bags, etc. Most of it is with tags and Russ brand.

The next pictures are clothing and all the clothes cost $13. They were .50 each. The lady that rang me up let me have two piece sets for .50 for both.

For my oldest son

Bag of socks (.50 cents)

Three bags of boys underwear (only lightly used. $1.00 per bag on two of them and .50 on one)

1 PJ set, 1 pj shirt and one pair of pants for my youngest son

2 pj sets

My middle son wearing a shirt I bought and washed today. It has Cars on it from the movie Cars and he loved it. The matching pants are to big for him and are below.

The matching pants and a pair of superman pj bottoms

Two pairs of wranglers for my middle son and one pair of jeans for my youngest

Three pair of jean shorts for my oldest

Four pairs of jeans and one pair of school pants for my oldest son

For my oldest son. He now likes this kind of stuff.

For my oldest son.
Thank you for viewing my finds.
And a thank you to Teresa W. for being my gracious hand model.
