did on their own wedding gowns. Some wear vintage. Some design their own
attire, in perhaps a nod to fierceness on "Project Runway."
For my prom, I wore tails. Lisa wore a gorgeous black cocktail dress. I
probably worried more about my outfit than she did.

Five prom outfit DON'TS.
1. If you're pregnant, don't wear a dress with a cutout for the belly.
(Don't laugh. I saw a frightful picture circulated a while back on the
internet that is still seared in my memory!)
2. Don't wear a matching dress with your best friend. (It may end your
friendship.)
3. Don't wear a costume unless you're ready to be the show.
(Self-explanatory.)
4. Don't try to make a political statement. (Let's face it don't get upset
if you're asked to leave if you're wearing a gown made out of a confederate
flag. There's a lawsuit over it.)
5. Do not wear uncomfortable shoes. (Whining about hurt feet is a real
buzzkill.)
What did you wear? Or what are you're glad you didn't wear? (Poor Ashley
Balyan who dressed geisha.)

A close friend of mine told me that her daughter was going to the prom with her best girlfriend. They went together to purchase their dresses. Then they reserved a room in a hotel for after the prom.
Is this what the kids are doing these days? Am I out dated or dumb? What is your opinion of this?
In my day, a girl was asked by a boy, and they did not go to hotels afterwards.
i suppose the one caveat is to make sure safety is considered (and laws aren't broken!)
