Wondering Where Your Tax Rebate Is At?

Many people are happily anticipating the day when their tax rebate will be direct deposited into their bank account, or a check sent in the mail.  The IRS has set up a link to track the amount and date of your rebate here. Theoretically you should be able to find out the amount you will receive and the date you will get it.  I say theoretically because when I tried it the site said it was unable to give me information about mine and re-directed me to the original schedule they had posted last month.

Of course I read the directions after and it says "We recommend checking the Payment Schedule prior to using this application since your payment information will not be available on this tool until the time that your payment is scheduled."

Why would you check the status AFTER you've already received the check?????
