I was so excited to see tulips, daffodils, iris starting to pop through the ground, and even lilacs budding when I went up North. I don't get to see those things here in Florida. It's been almost 7 years!
The weather was awful. It was in the upper 30's the whole time, hailed one morning, rained all day, then wet snow at night one time. But I still got to see the plants. I even saw robins, ans a bunny!
Here are photos I took on my grandma's property. They have quite a few acres. They have someone farm most of it for them. My grandpa was the gardener. now that he is gone, I know there won't be any veggies. It was very hard to get these pictures...the wind was going a million miles an hour, and I didn't bring the good camera. I had to delete a lot of pics...lol! But I got a few good ones.
Not that you all haven't seen enough tulips...but I was excited! Here are the flowers, and the sights from walking around my grandma's property.
This is the flower garden on the back of her house...and a cat, that she hates, but feeds, and bought a house for, lol...see him in the corner?

Mr. bunny with half an ear. He lives in the bushes in front of her house.

Daffodils in the wind...

More tulips...

This is my son, and my brother waking in the yard...we didn't have any warm clothes, so my son is dressed a little crazy!

Some buds on a tree...

This is the garden where a lot of the iris will be...my grandpa had a few different gardens with iris. He loved them. He would cross pollinate them, and make new colors!

Here are some iris just starting...they were in the ditch!

Milk weed?

It was so windy, that this robin nest fell out of the tree. I picked the eggs up...not with my hand, with a tong like thing, and placed them back in the nest. My brother put it back in the tree, but not as far up as it was...so they will probably die.

This is some piece of farm equipment in my grandma's field. Someone else farms the land for them, well now just her...

Not sure what this tree is, but the flowers were beautiful, and smelled great!

A huge willow tree in my grandma's yard.

View to the left, if standing at the street...

And this is what is directly across the street...my son, brother and mom are standing in the photos...

And here are some little things my grandpa made and put on the fence many years ago...

And last but not least, the lilac buds. I miss lilacs, they smell so wonderful. I probably will miss the bloom, but at least I got to see them budding!

That was a walk around my grandma's yard...I finally got to see spring! Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Your grandpa was a true gardener. You must take after him, my dear.
