Thanks for sharing. It's still Steve Winwood, alright, but nothing stands out as a hit song.

I listened to each song, and I can appreciate that Steve is coming out with a new sound and style. It works, but it just doesn't excite me as his late 80s albums did when I'd just crank up the radio after hearing just the first couple of notes! He's very good, the album is good, but perhaps it's just not my particular style. I know an artist can't go on and on sounding exactly the same...case in point, as the Beatles kept "reinventing" themselves, they had enough of whatever that magic was, to keep a loyal following through all the evolution of their music. I think that there will be many who like the new sound that Steve has created...and again, I can appreciate that he has come up with something that really works, but for whatever reason, it is only minimally appealing to me...but that's just me. I really feel that he's done a great job on updating his style!

I listened to two of the tracks...yes, it's good, it is Steve Winwood...I would probably be interested in grabbing this to have in the house to throw in while I am cleaning the house. AT the same time I see LOTS of bands, and am not convinced that this album impresses me quite like Trick Bag, for example. Maybe it would be different if I saw Winwood live...it really does make a difference! Especially with this type of music.

I think I like "Raging Sea" the best so far, but I really have to listen to it more to "get into" the album. Sometimes it takes several or more listenings until something kind of kicks in.

Appreciate the opportunity to get to listen to this new CD. I hear a little Traffic in some of the songs. I too loved Steve's music in the 80s and still listen to it all today. With that said, I did appreciate this new sound. It doesn't jump out and grab hold of you like some of his past work has done, but I really enjoyed it and will probably pick up this CD. It's nice music to work to.

My favorites were Raging Sea, Dirty City and At Times We Do Forget. I can't pick just one only hearing them once. I agree with Nancy. It's the repitition that makes songs stick sometimes.

I am keeping tabs open and listening all while gathering. My favorite track is Dirty City.
It is an opulent, ambitious single, 'Dirty City' is a welcome return for the artist who's widely regarded as one of the most respected and innovative performers of his generation

I actually liked the first track, I'm Not Drowning, the best. It wasn't easy to decide, but I kept going back to that one. I like it best because it is the perfect way to start (and continue) a good workout and oh! - because the guitar is kind of sexy...

Dirty City does seem to be my favorite too, but all in all, I would say this album is too 'mellow' for me. Just not 'rockin' enough!

This seems to get back to his folky/acoustic roots, so I like it a lot. Finally another good album from him after a few lackluster showings.

Dirty City is the one that will grab you the first time through, hands down, Secrets and Fly also good immediately, but it should be noted that Winwood has always been one of those that becomes more dear with more listens. I've gone back and listened to several of the tracks several times, and they truly do grab you better each time you play them . At Times We Do Forget and I'm Not Drowning particularly impressed me better the second or third times through. I'd love to have this for my collection, by the way. Thanks so much for giving us a preview. I have an irresistible urge to dig into the vinyl stacks and find The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys now.........

I love the Dirty City track. I actually wasn't sure who Winwood was until I looked him up on iTunes and found some of his songs from the 80's. I'm such a youngster.
