Answer - yes. What remains to be known is, what are the motives.
Why did they invite this guy and carried his spectacle on National TV live (MSNBC showed it live on Monday)?
As always, CUI BONO?
Who benefits from Wright's timely outburst? It has been suggested that Rev. Wright saw Obama's latest tax return and wanted a book deal. Still, Rev. Wright needed help to get to the podium.
The LA Times just picked up on a late blogosphere buzz suggesting that Hillary Clinton's supporter, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds, arranged for Rev. Wright to speak at the press club event. Not only is she a staunch Clinton supporter, she has been a critic of Obama.
The National Press Club has, this afternoon deleted the blog Dr. Reynolds Pro Clinton blog entry. Using Google's cache and examining the source code of the deleted entry, the posting has been reconstructed and can be found here. Why is the National Press Club sponging the entry?
We cannot know the motives of Dr. Reynolds and while looks can be deceiving, sometimes, things are exactly as they look.

I have to get past one question before I can countenance that possibility: what on Earth is going through Rev. Wright's mind today?
This quote raises a couple questions
1. How did this unidentified BuzzFlash reader gain access to the computer on which it was supposedly stored.?
2., if the access was legal why was this person not identified.
3. Why did the link not provide any other evidence that the purported blog is even real or written by the person claimed to have written it, the Reverend Barbara Reynolds who is herself a black minister.
4. What is so strange much less devious about a Clinton supporter writing a blog stating what she supports and voted for Senator Clinton? Has merely expressing support for his opponent become evidence of involvement in some sort of conspiracy? If so, it suggests that voting for Obama would be voting for another four years of the kind of attacks Bush and company have been launching against their opposition for the past for seven plus years.
5. Why would a Clinton supporter give the Reverend Wright the time of day considering how deftly Obama had already handled the controversy he created? Much I suspect the Obama campaign's delight, Wright continued the self-destruction he had begun in the Moyers interview and gave Obama ample reason for what he had not previously done: Disown Wright. This is not something that was to Hillary's advantage. From a political perspective it would have been far more clever to just let Obama refusal to totally break with the man and let the ammunition hang out there and keep the controversy alive. Now the only thing the Clinton campaign can use is question why it took Obama so long to do what he should have done in the first place.
6. If you read Reynold's March blog you will find it is a defense of the Reverend Wright and praises the contributions he has made and suggests that if Rev. Reynold's did arrange Wrights appearance before the National Press Club it was because she thought he deserved an venue which would allow him to present a more positive image of himself. Unfortunately for her apparently both she and Obama erred in their judgement of this man.
In fact, combined with the March blog, the fact that the only blog deleted was a innocuous one in support of Senator Clinton suggests that Reverend Reynolds my had changed her mind about Obama and did not want leave the one in support of Senator Clinton up, not that deleting it was part of some really devious plot to provide ammunition for Senator's Clinton campaign. I also am not suggesting that Reverend Reynolds deleted it to provide ammunition of the charge alleged by this article. I will leave thoughts of such devious machinations to Bush and company and those who choose to imitate them.
When I entered the URL that was provided, I got the blog entry that was quoted. At the top of the page, the message from Google says:

Answer - you don't need to get access to the computer on which it is stored.
Several other blogs have quoted it before it was sponged. As for motives, anyone can speculate. Your speculations of her believing Wright are legit. It is suspicious however that a Clinton supporter was sitting right next to Wright and arranged for him to be there.
Who benefits? Carol says Obama. I say Clinton benefits.
That would be Clinton. Her campaign looks like it being run by Rove.
This needed to be delt with now or better yet 3 months ago. Now is really the best time for Rev. Wright to come up, Obama will go into the convention with more states won, more popular votes, more delegates and a very good chance for the Dem nod. He doesn't need Rev. Wright taking center stage after the convention. Give Wright his 15 minutes of fame now.
Carol,
I can't speculate on motives. The facts are the facts however. She is a Clinton supporter and she was sitting right next to Wright. The Obama campaign did not want Wright to speak a week before crucial primaries. If you believe if conspiracy theories of let make him speak now, find a way for Dr. Reynolds to invite him, ahd have her, the Clinton supporter there, denounce him and exploit the situation, ...that's a lot of things to put together and that would suggest that Reynolds is in it with the Obama camp. Why sponge her blog?
She only sponged the blog that gave her reasons why she voted for Senator Clinton, and I mere suggested an alternative and much more likely reason for deleting that particular blog. If you had written an article/blog in support of Senator Clinton would you left it up where it could lead others to believe you still supported her and encourage them to vote for her? You are the one that suggested that the deleting of the blog was part of some plot that would benefit Senator Clinton. As for myself, I specifically stated that I did not think Reverend Reynolds did not delete it to give credence to your conspiracy theory. By the way did you read her March blog or do you also think that was written solely as a cover.
Reverend Wright started labelling Obama a politician who did the things a politician needed to do before appearing at the Press Club. Do you also think he is part of a Clintonian conspiracy?
By the way she is not denying she got him there. She is however saying that she had no ill-conceived motives. You can take her words at face value or not. Everyone (interested) will make that decision. Just getting the story out there and presenting a cynical, provocative view of it.

Wright's cartoon-like behavior is still unexplained.
