The headlines everywhere showed an elderly  Austrian man, who had raped his daughter for the past 25 years and had seven children with her ,three of them had lived with her in a celler in 60 square meters without seeing daylight.

The case is an exemple of human behavior at its worse

how a man can abuse his own daughter, now details appear about the past

how the man led a double life , how he had raped a woman  , his frequent trips to Thailand

while his children/grandchildren lived in a dark celler without windows..

By chance the man had had to take his child-grandchild to the hospital and then all was revealed

by the daughter who was allowed to come to the hospital to care for her child.

I wonder what made the man make "the mistake"?

I wonder how no body noticed , the house was not isolated but in a block of buildings,

how could no one hear 7 children being born?

Many questions come up

i am a bit tired of the newspapers giving such a coverage to the story,

it is just another exemple of news that is not really news

this is a human tragedy, the story of abuse and yet the newspapers go into small details,

meanwhile other news go to the back burner

It would be another matter if there was anything one could do

but already a team of psychiatrists and mental health experts surround the family

the house is surrounded by reporters collecting more and more information,

why can't people read the Greek tragedy, king oedipus, the story of Media who served her children to her husband

those were not stories about mythical beings, but about what is within the wide human spectrum

this human tendency to look into other people's lives, perhaps to feel good that this did not happen

to your family , perhaps to feel the horror and unite around common human values,

to tighten the circle that sets limits, what is acceptable and what is not.

I feel a bit sadder today , a  bit burdened by the many details,

i could have put down the newspaper and not read more but something pulls me into this human

tragic tale; the sacrifice of a child for the sake of selfish sick parents

and i wonder what will happen to those poor children raised in a dark celler?

would it be possible for them to lead normal lives?

To find a partner, to marry, to find work , to be part of society ?

As if , i think bitterly, all those things means you are alright, that everything is fine..

I hope  the   children will have a chance to grow up as human beings rather than a sad human mistake

Even with sun and parents that try to give you all they can

it is still a difficult job to survive, to feel good,

i can not imagine how one does it when there are so many obstacles in the way?

perhaps it is true though that whatever does not kill makes one stronger,

i certainly hope it is..
