How will my change in banking effect my rebate?

I have no idea. I know that if someone moved they had to fill out a form. That probably goes for bank changes too. I would go to the irs website and look at the FAQ section.

You may have to get ahold of the Infernal Revenue Service. If thy had your old account routing number to direct deposit into the account that's now closed; it obviously won't work...and nothing will be deposited anywhere. You money will just lie in the IRS's account and they won't do anything about it...not even snail mail it to you. You'll either have to give them the routing number of your new account or an address to mail it to...and that's going to creat a delay for as long as you take to give them the information, which me be added time now anyhow because of the changes.

On IRS.Gov, it states that anyone who had a DD refund, and no longer has the account, the check will be deposited. Once it gets rejected, a paper check will be made out.

I don't recall from the site whether or not that means the check will be sent immediatly, or whether it'll be sent later on, during the time that checks are sent for your number bracket.

Shoot, now I can't find the information on the site. They changed the page since this weekend. I am almost positive they'll replace the DD with a paper check, though. I'm just not clear as to when the check gets sent out- right away, or with the batch times.

I found it on the IRS FAQ. They will send out a paper check.

Im happy that you found what you were looking for and that you should not have a problem getting it. It might take a little longer, but as long as you get it, that is all that matters.

I'm anxeitous to get ours any day now. we were supposed to get it on the 9th but now that they were sent out early, I'm not sure when we're getting it in the bank.

I'm glad you found what you were looking for, but I think my first instinct would have been to call the original bank and ask what the normal procedure was in that type of situation.
