Here are a few sites I have come across that will help people who are planning a Disney vacation. I did not get a package deal when I went. I booked outside of the park with Expedia and was sorry I did. I hear you have a better experience when you stay inside the park. However I did save a lot of money. My room was about $60.00 a night and it was a very nice hotel with a huge pool, hot tub and waterfall.
What cost us the most was the food, and souvenirs. It was quite easy to spend $2000 in 4 days.....
I think I have a ankle bracelet to show for it and a few pictures....
Maybe these sites will help you:

we went the cheapest way we could booked through expedia. Bought souvenirs outside of the park. We did eat inside the parks a couple times and for lunch it was over $50 for fast food nothingness.
So I highly recommend either packing a cooler, or leaving to eat. That was a bit too much. Also if going in the hot months be prepared carry one of those spray fans. We ended up buying 2 in the park and that set us back about $40.
I hope this helps someone. I think I am going to order the vacation planning dvd so I can see what all I missed and maybe take the kids again in a couple years.
