Tigger update ~ 4-28-08

Tigger has been eating the wet kitten food well but won't even look at anything dry.  He still is not drinking on his own at all.

Each day I have seen him acting more like himself except for one thing.  He likes to snuggle and be held and petted more than he ever did.  That has been a nice surprise. 





This morning i saw him play! for the first time since he got sick.  That was a joy to see.
He chased China through the house playing nana nana boo boo and just romped.
Tomorow I need to get him into the vet for a recheck.

That is the news.
He is better but not completely well.

I'll let you know when I have more lab results.

Gather friends are the best!

Hooray! Tiger and Wizard would do a happy dance, but Tiger is in the "dog"house for stealing my chicken quesadilla! Wizard however sends best wishes.

I have to admit I am very lenient with Tiger...after all, a 15 year old cat who has the get up and go to make my quesadilla get up and gone deserves to be cut a little slack, don't you think? Hope Tigger is as mischievious soon!

I'm glad to hear he's still improving. K's sister's momma cat is suffering with a similar ailment, and I know now is not a good time for her to be coping with this. For many of us, pets are family, and there is not other way to describe our relationship.

he sounds like he is doing better every day. I am so glad to read that he was playing!
I'm sure he will continue to enjoy that wet food until you no longer offer it to him!

Good for him. It can take a long time for recovery and you want it to go fast. I would be going crazy if he were my cat. Hang in there.

You know, your Tigger is ALWAYS in my thoughts. Granted, I have plenty of "sick pet" reminders - every time I look at one of my cats (especially poor fat Mr Twisty), I think of yours, and how he's sick, and how hard that is, and worry that one day I will face the same thing. K's sister currently has a cat dealing with kidney problems, too, and it is so hard for her. She lost her sister only in November, and I don't think she could take the cat dying on her so soon after....

Tigger is always in my thoughts, and you are too as you try to get him well.

its so odd that he is not drinking yet, but at least there is some improvement. Hopefully he will be back to his old self again.

When my cat is not drinking enuff I put afew dry food in his water to flavor it. Also tuna juice in his water will work. But If he does not drink I put water and wet food mix in a rubber glove and tie it up. cut a hole in the finger and I shoot it down his throat.

If the water is hot or cold my be why he is not drinking much. My cat only like the water that comes out of the bath tub. It does tast better I tryed it.

you know If I drink a kind of beer or wind and get sick then I do not want that kind for awile. maybe your cat got sick and now water taste bad to him.
