Storm Clouds from The Cold Front

Sunday the weather around here got pretty crazy. My husband told me a cold front was on the way in and I wasn't surprised as I had gotten chilly just sitting at the computer with the window open.

We went out to the deck to make sure we had the umbrella down and checked out the sky. Wow! The first two pictures were taken facing northwest and the last one is facing east. It's very unusual for us to get fronts moving from the east, because of where we are in the state. Most of our weather is influenced by fronts moving in from the southwest.

 

 

 

 

 

These were taken at about 4 p.m. and it was pretty wild--almost creepy! We could actually feel the "dividing line" between the warm air and the cooler air moving in.

A few days ago I had the air conditioner on in our house in MI. It was 80 in the house before I turned on the AC. Now it has been chilly for a couple of days and I have the heat on in the house! It has been rather windy too. I hope it will warm up again soon.

I love to see storm clouds coming in. Today I drove through a hail storm and that was not so fun.

I just heard on the news that several twisters touched down in Virginia. Suffolk County got a bad hit. If all you got were those black skies consider yourself very lucky.

Those are wonderful Mary. I live in Kansas and see the same type coming in from the SouthWest also. It is so fascinating and exciting ... especially if you have a basement to run to :)
