Question of the week....Rebate checks

Rebate checks are being mailed out earlier than expected in the hopes of jump-starting the economy. What do you plan to do with yours?

I plan on putting mine right in my pocket and save it for a rainy day when I really need something. I'm not running right out and spending it except for maybe a dinner out.

Well, I've already spent it about 10 times, at least in my mind. Since I'm only on Soc. Sec., I didn't expect an extra $300, soooooooooo, intend to try and enjoy it!

You mean the RETURN of the money I, the taxpayer ALREADY paid to my government??
Pay my bills, of course, something the current Administration does not seem to know how to do!! This $%&^ Bush told us to SPEND MONEY when we went to war; totally unlike the rationing/saving I was expecting, the way the WWII USA Citizens did. Why doesn't he just print us all up new money? Whoopee, hooray, spend spend our lives away!

I plan on putting mine in the bank to draw some interest until I need to pay my home owners insurance. That will take care of it.

Haven't really decided .... may put some into much needed & often postponed vehicle & house repairs, want to spend very little of the rebate, but mainly we just want to save it up.

Well since I have been spending like crazy lately( doing my part to help the economy lol) on refinishing my basement , carpet, new tile,furniture, big screen tv,new clothes for the kids, big party for my little one who turns one next week. I think I will just put it in my savings account or put some into the kids college accounts.

Probably invest it in my fiance, so he can get his license back.

Taxes this year wiped out our savings, so some of the rebate is going back to build up that savings bank. But we will use some of it to buy something.

Mostly paying off a bit of a credit card.

Later this summer I will be investing a couple hundred in dog\puppy supplies to make sure the puppy I will raise will be properly equipped & trained.

That money went as fast as it came! I paid off a very ugly credit card with a 30% penalty APR that had a low enough balance. Now I have room for more debt! yeah right!

We used ours to buy a Wii, and a few accessories for it. We also used it to buy food and gas while we were on vacation. We put part of it back for my little one, in savings, and bought him a playhouse. I think the playhouse will save us money, because we will spend more time playing at home, and less time playing at the park! The park we go to is just too far away and takes too much gas to get there!
