had a religion course in college, taught by a Jewish professor. Once one of the students said, "Isn't there an old Jewish saying 'from your lips to God's ear?'" And the prof said, "Yes, but my old grandma had explained it so much better, she'd said, "Sometimes it from your lips to God's ear, and sometimes it is 'From your lips to God's ear... OY!' " We'd all laughed and then he said that is the yiddish grandmother version of be careful what you ask for!
