The winning pitch

My granddaughter made the softball traveling team this year. They will travel as far as North Carolina this summer.  The traveling teams attract scouts and she is hoping for a softball scholarship to college.  She is only 15 and a freshman this year.  She is a good all around player but her expertise is pitching.  Thought I would share a play by play of her winning pitch the other night.

Lining up for the throw.

Beginning the windup.

In full stretch.

  Do you see the ball?  Right down the middle, across home plate for the third strike out.  Won the game!!!

Congrats to her on the win! And I always find it amazing to watch someone wind up and throw a ball, especially girls because they throw so differently from guys. Neat photo essay, Nancy!

Okay, I'm not much into baseball, but in that last picture, the ball looks like it's quite close to the ground, making it hard to hit. Hey, as long as it's legal and results in a strike...
