This beautiful Hawaiian Island Valley is a protected park, full of botanical wonders and peacocks! Take a look with me!
Below: This is a monkey paw tree. The branches grow in a wonderful pattern. This tree is HUGE and the mosaic effect is stunning. One of the few places in nature where you can see the pattern in the space AROUND the object, not the object itself.

Below: a beautiful "Sneezing" Hybiscis. That's my name for it. Geshunteit.

Below:Peacock in a tree. He was gorgeous, and I think he was well aware of it.

Below:Closeup of the tail feathers of a peacock. Amazing color.

Below: Colorful leaf, looks even more colorful on the gray tree stump. I love the textures.

Below: Check out the colors on this eucalyptus tree trunk. I thought someone had splashed paint on it! Bizarre. Beautiful.

Below: A pretty pink hybiscus. Yes it was raining. Made the day even prettier!!

Anybody know the name for this leafy plant? It was BIG, the leaves were a couple of feet across. Gorgeous.

There you have a small percentage of the beautiful photos I took at Waimea Valley. Hope you enjoy them!

Thank you so completely very much.
I'm seldom this so at a loss for words. Only overdriven adjectives can express my amazement...

I'd love it if you would post this to my group for all things to do with nature, animals, and pets!.
If you haven't already. I don't see it there and I wanted to feature the two together, so I've been watching for it. Thanks.
Anyway, yes, that tree was a beaut!
Thanks everybody!

Bobbi, I was in heaven!
Gayle, I had already learned about Keith Haring and about his grafitti background. I like his work. Now I am learning about Basquiat and his connection with Andy Warhol! More artists cut down in their prime. It's sad. Glad I'm not stagnating in my art history education. Thanks for the info.
Thank you everybody! I'm glad Gather is around so we can share.
