Family Time

Yesterday we took the kids out to eat out a place we havne't been to before.  It was a nice little family resturant that serves bar-b-que.

Afterwards we went to get some mulch at a recycle center.  It was pretty neat.  We got 3 bags of mulch for free.  After the big ice storms and wind storms tons of trees got messed up and they have been mulching it.  There were two huge mounds and we took our shovels and bags and got it.

While we were there i noticed they had the recycle bins there for plastic, glass and other stuff.  I talked my husband into diving into the plastics to get coke caps.  We found two huge trash bags full of Coke and Sprite bottles.  We got at least 40 or 50 caps yesterday.

My older son had to much fun shoveling and looking for caps.  He said he had so much fun and he was so excited about the caps.  When we got home he told me to hurry up and put them in.  It stinks you can only input 10 a day.

We decided we should go back each week and look for more caps.  It was so easy to find them.

Well that was our night!!!  Good free fun!!!!

WTG - good for you - good for the family - good for the environment - free mulch ($2 a bag here at Home Depot) - and a stash of coke rewards!!!

nothing better than free stuff right! sounds like you all had an awesome time! I love real "family time" like that.

We seem to do ours here at home.. lol we grill out and hang outside when its cool.. lol too far to get anywhere from here..

You know what I find funny is only our family would consider dumpster diving as a family bonding experience. LOL.

Here in Michigan we return our empty bottles to the store for a dime each. When I use to work at Walgreens, I took the bottle returns. I would take all the caps off the coke bottles. On my days off the others would do the same for me. Then my sister worked across the street at CVS and she would get them from there for me. There was not a day that went by I was not putting 10 in a day. I miss them days, but drink more then enough honestly to much coke so I get plenty of points.
