(I'm republishing this so it can be spotlighted)
I'm not a go-getter, appointment setter, fortune 500,
tennis shoes in the drawer, scratch for more.
I don't get IRA, 401K, bonus in my pay, sick days,
vacation play.
What I am is
the boo-boo kisser, to-do lister, coupon tight-fister,
make love to my mister.
So don't judge
because
I keep it going, and you're knowing, the seeds I'm sowing
are growing
and flowing
to become
my ambitions:
mathmaticians, politicians, leaders of nations,
governing space stations.
Each step a stride, wide, on my side, developing my pride
The ones to run this world and more-
crawling on my floor, leaving through my door
came from my core.
So remember-
without my career, here
it'd all be gone.
So I'll nurture along, strong
knowing you're wrong
to put me down.

I'm an associate researcher in human development... ;-)
When I saw that I was wondering if it was about my cleaning today - it included bleaching my kitchen because I found ants and wanted to kill all their nasty little trails they leave each other while they're looking for food...

Rachel, some people still have their prejudices about stay at home dads. I don't think it's right, because there's no difference in a SAHM and a SAHD. I think it's great that he does that, especially in these days when a lot of dads don't even stick around! Bravo to him!
Lisa- I HATE it when the ants find their way to my kitchen! I'm the same way, I'll start spraying and bleaching!
J R B- I'm not sure I want my kids to lie that much, LOL!
I know the feeling very well. I've been a SAHM since 1999. I've actually been told before that I am failing my children, that they have no reasons to have pride in me because I don't work a 9 to 5!! Can you believe that???
