Rainbow shades of vibrant hue Blend in streaming flows of tears Trees so dear I close sore eyes To hear rustling, windy cheer Scents are but a memory Numbed by pollen wafting by Crashing waves on distant coasts Beat messages onto sand-- --Visit and open your eyes To my bracing, salty midst I imagine foamy brine, The spray of salt on my lips Surfing runs and flying boards . . . And sigh as the week wears on Copyright 2008 Jim Ross

I'll shut up now. Love it Jim, and I hope summer is good to you.
Gleeful lament, dear Jim!
Jim, you've given us a charmingly painful reminder of why one thinks wistfully of the "distant coasts"...to "visit and open your eyes to my bracing, salty midst".... !
Ahhh, a good plan! Have a good clear morning, Friend.

Brava
A lovely, sensorial poem; full of notable gentility ~
This has such a wonderful flow; especially when I read it aloud. You've penned a lovely write with content that beautifully undergirds your title.
Hope everything is fine.

I really do enjoy the "swing" of
"Scents are but a memory
Numbed by pollen wafting by..."
