Peace at last - a poem

I just wrote this for a dear friend....

 

 Dear Lord for so long now

My tears will not shed

Replaced by the burden

I carry like lead.

 

The anger it burns within me

It has made me dry as the dust

Though betrayed by this world

In you alone I can trust.

 

You can take all the pain

Upon your shoulders the bitterness take

Open my heart and my eyes

I know you will never forsake.

 

I can let these tears fall

Safe in your mighty hands

You will heal these deep wounds

That by your name I can stand.

 

Forgiveness will come

To release the pain from my past

My tears finally freed

I will find peace at last.

Oh, how I can relate to this one. It is so awesome when we find His peace. I know that it is easier said...but we must learn to let go and let God!
