Carpet Cleaning

We all need our carpets cleaned at some piont and time.  General rule of thumb is to have your carpets cleaned at least once a year.  I know many of you out there that have new carpets may think they still look good after that first year.  If you want to keep them that way you need to get them cleaned.  Waiting untill you have high traffic marks in your carpet is not recommended because not all the dirt will come out.

How Many times a year should I Clean my carpets?

This is one of those questions that totally depends on the individual.  If you have kids and or pets then you should have your carpets cleaned at least twice a year t keep them in great shape.  After all you paid a small fortune for those carpets.  You need to spend money to keep them in good condition.  If you do not have high traffic on your carpet and little to no wear on the carpet then only once a year should be adequate in your case.

What Carpet Cleaning Method Should I use?

Steam carpet cleaning is still the most popular out there.  The reason is simple.  This process works.  Most carpet manufacturers recommend you do not have your carpets steam cleaned more then once a year.  The reason is because all the water can cause carpet shrinkage and foam shrinkage and dammage your carpets.  Dry carpet cleaning has been gaining market share over the past 5 years.  There are a few different methods but in a nut shell a non residue shampoo solution is used with a rotating brush.  The enzimes in the shampoo eat the oil in the carpet and free up all the dirt.  Then 24 hours later you can vacuumm the carpets and those microscopic partacles are removed.  This process is nice for the simple reason that your carpets do not get soaked and are dry in about an hour.  Results vary but regardless of the method used if you have a good carpet cleaning tech your carpets will look good.
