Great selections, Jan. I have read Kathryn´s powerful poem and now will look at the other articles. I agree with the spirit of your comment entirely. Each day is earth day 365 days a year, from now till we each drop past the verdant growth into the topsoil (or our ashes blow in the wind.)

Hear hear! One of the most spectacular manifestations of the acceleration in climate change that I've seen came from images of methane being ignited as it was being released from what used to be permafrost. Ice and fire. We cannot expect India and China to forego the things we take for granted - governments must invest in green technology as a matter of the utmost urgency and we must all have a keen sense of virtue - yes - when making choices.

wonderful Janet and yes indeed one seed at a time. I save my seeds from my breakfast fruit - I do love growing mango trees - it takes a while to germinate the seeds but I do it with coffee grounds. Stay wonderful. Peace, Salud.

Well, so you gave birth to an eco-zealot. Good for him and for you. Listen up, old folks. It may not just be your grandkids living here, most of the world believes we'll all be coming back....

Michael Pollan, however, turned me off in his first 4 5 6 7 paragraphs. Drop in the bucket and evil-twin-in-China? He's writing for somebody else than me. Lightbulbs matter.

I can get into Kathryn's wry poem much better. I go for the "whole earth is our hospital" stuff, as you know.

And I'm most happy to close this little tour with your winged and prayer-like ode to earth-mama. Thanks, Jan. You Californians lead the way!
