Back From The Beach

My husband finally had a day off, and since the weather was perfect today, we decided that it was time for a special beach trip. We packed the cooler, put lots of sun lotion on the boys, and then we headed to Key Biscayne an island south east of downtown Miami.














The sky was almost cloudless, the ozone was low and Key Biscayne was absolutely beautiful today. We found a great spot near the lighthouse at Cap Florida, and after the initial cold shock from the clear water, it actually turned out to be very warm and comfortable.












The boys got a boogie board for Sky's two-year-old birthday, and today was our first time trying it out.





Roshane was a bit hesitant at first, and he didn't even want to bring the boogie board at first. I have the feeling he thought we were going to make him stand up on it, like he has seen the surfers do. After a few babysteps, he did seem to become comfortable with the board, and he says he wants to bring it next weekend.





As you can tell Skyler Kai became a pro really  fast.







We spent two hours at the beach, before we went to eat lunch under a palm tree. My oldest son convinced me to go up in the light house, although I will admit that I was pretty scared. Well, we did climb the stairs all the way and at 2 p.m. the beach was full as you can see below.
