To ping or not to ping, that is the question. I am not much of a pinger but when someone pings me I return the ping. I think when you return a ping, that is called pong.
Yes Kay is right. It is called, "ping~pong" when you return a ping. Like ringing the doorbell you see.
I'm pretty pinged up. I use to return pings right on my own feed. But now I'm a little overwhelmed with pings and things since this new gather change took effect. Didn't know they existed originally, now they are overflowing in my face ~ so, kinda hard to miss them.
How many of you know that your pings are all over GOOGLE!!!!?
My husband just told me some interesting trivia: when the internet started, you would ping someone to see how long it took to get a response back. Then you could see how slow the internet was running that day. And they took the term from submarines who used sonar to see how far another sub was.
