So .... renovation update... with 7 days to go, here is where we are at:
The new garden doors are in. No lock set, yet. And I'm thinking we might want a bit better back step.
This is where people typically first come into the house - but it is correctly referred to as the back, NOT the front. When one lives on waterfront, the front of the house is, I am told, the side which faces the water.

Garden patch looks just a little pitiful.

Come on into the .... um.... kitchen/dining room

It's a bit of a mess yet.

Original plan was just to build walls to enclose the hot water heater. Instead, we've stacked 3 of the kitchen cupboards that didn't have a place to be, put a back on them, and made a pantry. That covers one wall. The freezer will move over to create the lower half of the other wall, and then Ross will make a wall behind that. So he'll still be able to get at the hot water heater by pulling the freezer. Aren't we clever?

The living room/my office/den has a bit more work/organizing to do. That wall will eventually house my books...well, so of them anyway. Computer is moving down to that end - possibly tomorrow, if I can get my paper done early enough.

Same area from the opposite direction:

Did you notice the cut out between the living room and the kitchen? Still needs some major trimming - Ross actually wants to make it even bigger - the issue with doing that is the heating/cooling unit up at the top there...a pain to move, apparently. Rob (the heating/cooling buddy) is not enthusiastic.

The bedroom is still pretty full of boxes of junk, etc. Of course, the bedroom and back hall don't need to be done for the wedding - can work around those if need be.

The cell phone I need to find for Jess is in here somewhere:

This is the start of the new little hallway .... the door on the left is into our bedroom - the door on the right is into the bathroom - that's the one Ross was making in the last video I posted. I wish i had thought to take a picture of the lower half of the door - there are water pipes across it that one must step over to get into the washroom, for now. Good reason not to drink heavily.

This is the front of the house.... where we will (ha!) BBQ and, weather permitting, hang out on the 26th. Great place for entertaining, eh? Also for storing all the stuff he's ripped out but plans to use somewhere else.

This was the view earlier this evening. We are known as the home of the beautiful sunsets for good reason.

So much to do yet... hopefully tomorrow I shall finish my last paper, and start feeling semihuman again ... actually some better this evening... hoping I will continue to improve .... she says as she coughs like a 90 year old man with emphysema or COPD I guess they call it now.

It does look like Ross is really moving along...but I wouldn't expect miracles.
be good to get the freezer out of there first though!
Although I suppose that I shall have to help with doing laundry and housework eventually ...if/when I get enough lung function to do that
Cool, Jax.... you going to take a picture for me? I take it my HD cards haven't shown up yet?
I'm going to send the coin in the package I've got about ready to send. I promise it will go out Monday.
Just theory left ...and exam... but theory paper tomorrow, then will worry about exam Monday
he irked me today though! I thought I was so clever with the idea of buying him a tree instead of a ring (since he doesn't WANT a ring) .... guess what he went and did today?
Went into town to do a dump run ...and came home with like 10 of them!!!! Will still buy him one but not the same now. Stinker!
I'm hoping Mike remembers my b-day this year...I'm still not happy he and the kids forgot last year.
Tamara was thinking to come up earlier, but her roommate left her with his cat and hasn't been in touch since...got to get that sorted out first
Sue suggested he have a fire and get rid of some of it ... he clearly has plans for it
heading to bed...goodnight
