What Is Happening Today On Gather - Monday April 21, 2008

Thankfully,  it is a new week.  Just like spring brings newness to the earth, a new week bring us the opportunity for  newness in our lives. I just went outside to enjoy the sunshine and beauty of all the spring flowers and green leaves. Heavenly Father has blessed me with much beauty in my life.  The wonderful people on gather are part of that beauty. There are just so many wonderful, compassionate and friendly people here. I love the Gather community!

Our intenet is down again.   We went in to pay for gas and they could not even take our debit card. I have no idea when it will be working as the toll free number to call and report it... well it is not working either. LOL 

 

 

 

The Fiction Readers group is looking for ten  people to read and review the book "Of Men and Their Mothers" This book is written by Mameve Medwed. It sounds like a wonderful book.  For a chance to read this book, all you have to do is tell why you would like to read this book. As citizen journalists, share your perspectives and opinions about what's going on in the world. What Is All This "A New Earth" talk about?

A landmark interactive spiritual event began Starting Monday, March 3rd, 2008, Oprah Winfrey and best selling author and spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle  teamed up to teach a live weekly webcast centered around Mr. Tolle's book "A New Earth," Oprah's latest book club selection. This revolutionary webcast is being hailed "the biggest classroom ever," and is FREE.

The entire  course lasts 10 weeks, and has already begun. It began on  Monday at 8pm CST at oprah.com/anewearth. Each covered one of the 10 chapters in the book, with the discussion on the Gather site following the same topic.

Gather is thrilled to be participating in this breakthrough interactive event. Each Tuesday you can join other gather members for the  discussion of  the book, the Web Event, and spiritual journey itself.  You can listen to the webcast here on Mondays. Then catch the discussion here on gather each Tuesday.

Jennifer Hodge will be the discussion leader for Tuesday's discussion on A New Earth. This weeks discussion will be on chapter 8 of the Oprah's Book Club Pick by author Eckhart Tolle "A New Earth."  This chapter is titled  "The Discovery Of Inner Space." This section will deal with "gratitude."   You do not have to read the book to get into the discussions. All the material that you will need can be found free here.
