I was doing so good on the cash option, then everyone disappeared!

I've been getting half the comments and ratings on my pictures and articles that I did a week ago.  I'm afraid the group's distain for Gather is impacting ME!

I think thats happening to everyone somewhat. Everyone is so focused on hating the changes, they're not visiting or publishing too much besides stuff complaining about or just discussing the changes.. let's hope its just temporary...

I'm getting FAR less comments too... as well as giving less. Why? I can't FIND anything. Ugh.

I've resorted to going to EACH NAMESPACE and commenting like heck one at a time for over 500 connections. Yeah. It's slow going, but at least it makes more sense than the feed which is wiped clean daily.

most of us don't have time to go hunting for older work.... once something is gone off the feed it is pretty much invisible .... you can thank Hawthorne for that

I usually try to hunt around for articles from my connections, and I make sure to check the bottom of them to see if anything new is listed.

I have noticed the same thing. I hope its just temporary~
It's the same for me as well. If someone isn't visiting your gather page, then they are not seeing most of your work, since it drops off the feeds so fast~

Another thing is that in many areas, the weather is getting better meaning more outside time for people at least for us...Hope this helps !

I'm still here, I just haven't had the time due to work and all to gather as much as I have in the past. My comments dropped off long before the upgrade so I can't entirely blame it on that. I've also been outside a lot searching for pictures to take and catching up on my home life. Feel free to stop by my articles if you wish. I'll go by yours sometime relatively soon.

Oh, gosh, Tabitha, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not getting as many comments, either, and I don't think it's so much because of people's unhappiness with Gather, as it is that it's harder to see everyone's articles and images than it was previously. I'm also having some difficulty finding everyone's posts, but I'm trying to stay up with my friends as much as possible! Hang in there! Have a good weekend, Tabitha!

I have seen views, comments, and such go down on mine as well. I still get emails letting me know when new stuff from my friends get created. That way I can keep up. I am a few days behind but i will get caught up.

I have to say, that I am one of those people that haven't been commenting as much as I used to. I guess that it's because things have been kind of crazy here. I am going to try and be more active on here in the coming days and weeks.

If one understands how site usage works, the one week usage here since the upgrade seems to have dropped significantly. You can check Gather usage at Alexa.com or go to an article called Hawthorne Redux and use the link there to get the facts. Less people. less comments. And this is the new, improved Gather?

I've loved Gather for a long time. It has been a great place. But I don't like the new Gather. That is just my take. Apparently, neither do a great many people, if those ratings and usage figures can be trusted. Spikes of usage at Alexa reflect periods when contests were being promoted.
