The great question of the 2008 election, as it stands now near the eve of the Pennsylvania presidential primary, is how long the stalemate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should go on.
Barack Obama is ahead in the delegate count and in the popular vote so far, but he's not got a very large lead. Hillary Clinton supporters continue to hold out hope for a turnaround.
How long should they hold out hope?
I have two voices in my head on this subject.
One says that the democracy we love demands that elections remain competitive for as long as the candidates and their supporters wish it to be so.
The other voice says that there needs to be a decision soon, so that a strong voice for a progressive agenda can start work in confronting the regressive Republicans.
Can the freedom of an open mind combine with the strength of a decisive hand to find a balance between these two voices, or is one side clearly in the right?

Democrats will begin to realign with one of the candidates.
Neither of them deserve the kinds of stupid remarks that Eleanor makes.
