1. Have absolutely no life. If you have kids constantly demanding your attention, or a full time (even a part time) job, you may find it nearly impossible to reach this goal.
2. Always keep 1-3 tabs open just for images you are viewing and rating. Pick your favorite connections, and when you are finished with them, scour out the Gather site for members with 10+ pages (100+ is better) of images. It helps if they are nice to look at (food, nature, cute kids doing crazy things). This does NOT include pictures of cats. (hehe)
3. NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK! If you have less than 100 connections, then it makes absolutely no difference how great your content is. No one is going to see it. (And that means less points) I have over 1000 connections, and only about 4% actively view what I publish. Surprisingly, I know just about all of them, whether or not I actively comment. Some articles I just do not know what to say, or just don't have the energy to type. But that doesn't mean I didn't stop by. I'm naturally curious. (It may be harder to have your content noticed with this new upgrade)
4. If you rarely publish, then you will rarely see an increase in your points. Unless, of course, you are all over Gather checking every one else out. Still, publishing regularly is necessary to drag people to your content. It has a lot to do with page views.
5. Leaving 5 comments a day does NOT qualify as "a ton of comments". Oh, which brings me to another point, commenting does NOT generate points. So if you have nothing to say other than "nice job" or "thanks for posting" then don't even bother. (It's considered comment spamming, is against Gather's TOS, and devalues Gather anyway if you have the same comments all over their website) Most authors want to read quality comments where there is a little thought involved, telling them that their work is actually read/viewed/appreciated. They still appreciate you stopping by, even if they don't know it was YOU who stopped by. Leave a 10 star rating for good measure.

Like right now I'm on Netwinner and doing hits on MTurk at the same time while on Gather - I finished Boomertowne, Hits4pay, and bux.to a little earlier. It's a great feeling being able to do 10 things at once. LOL
But still, I barely ever use groups unless I publish a writing/photography challenge, or something that fits exclusively in one group.
It's all about the page views!
