I can see

They will come to me
They will come down under a cloud

I can see
They will walk in Raven town.

When I saw this painting by Susan Seddon Boulet in the book Shaman I immediately thought of our good friend, Liz.  Her love, strength and humor fill my soul with delight.  Blessings, Liz.

I remember seeing this artist Susan Seddon Boulet´s artwork on the cover of the magazine Shaman´s Drum, which I used to buy regularly when I lived in the Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco (well, actually a block from that famous intersection, at Haight and Masonic in a gorgeous painted lady of a Victorian) for five years back in the late Eighties, early Nineties. Back then I did totem animal work as well, though with Bear, and went to sweat lodges and drummed (at Esalen with Olatungi and Mickey Hart one unforgettable weekend) and did mushrooms and ayahuasca and got clean and sober for real--that is to say, to last-- and found out a few things about deep self I will never forget.

I like your use of repetition in this hypnotic chant, Elizabeth. If you´re going to call down spirit, that´s how you do it, by invoking them, again and again.

I think I need to go to a sweat lodge and start drumming...and perhaps with the help of Spirits that which was lost will be found once more on the site Gather and then all who came in good faith to write, photograph, read, critique and comment will be at home once more.

Funny things I do in the morning when I'm trying to pack or get ready for a Mother Earth Concert. Yesterday I had no idea I was going to write this article...then I saw the painting and all I could do but think about Raven Spirit and the work she does.

Bob, now I can finally thank you properly. When Magi told me of it, I came and looked. It made my day....but I was so very sad not to be able to contact you or thank you myself. I am sending you big hugs at this very moment. I am so touched by this. I have always loved Susan Seddon Boulet. her work is an inspiration to me as you have now become. You have a magnificent heart.
