** Game...Everyone has one?

I have 3 umbrellas. One is a golf umbrella that we keep handy for days when we want to walk in the rain together. That isn't too often! I have a hot pink automatic opening and closing one that I keep in the car. I also have one that is blue with butterflies on it. Because it doesn't open so easily I keep it on the porch. It is too pretty to toss out.

I know it was invented by the Chinese,but I don't know who patented it

I have a lot of umbrellas,all different colors...Never can find one when I need it,either.

Don't know; and I never have an umbrella on me when it rains!

We also have a large enough for two green umbrella. There are others who keep it company in the stand by the front door, but they haven't been used since we moved here almost 3 years ago.

Now that's a cute umbrella!!! I love the kitty. Mine are boring..That's what I need an outrageous umbrella!! I will start my quest. God knows we only get 59 days of sun here a year.

I've put it back somewhere, it won't rain over here up to next October at least. Who invented it? Maybe the Chinese and Marco Polo have brought to Europe - but that's a wild guess.

Phillipines or Maylasia is my guess. Nice thought for the day even if it's a wrong answer...floating on an island in the sun.

I've told you it's a wild guess, which means it's a sure mistake. But I dare say, you've got a lovely umbrella.

I don't have an unbrella. I use my hoodie over my head when going outside. Unbrellas cost too much. $10 is expensive when I can just get rained on and soaked for no cost. As for my child, I will probably buy her one because I don't want her sick, as for myself, I don't care about myself. I find it greedy if buying one for myself. My parents MADE me have one for college and my Mom BOUGHT it, I almost went nuts, "NO, Mom! No, that's 8 dollars, that's expensive!" She smiled and told me to stop complaining and put it in the cart before I could say no.

Then... when I was in college, other friends said, we're going to Walmart, wanna go? I said sure...and they said, "Oh its raining outside, do you have an unbrella." I got so embarrassed and said, 'NO, I don't use one." And then they said, "What, are you CRAZY????" I smiled and said, "Oh, ya, my Mom made me get one." They laughed and said, "Your Mom made you?"

My response, "yaaa.. I just use my hoodie. rain don't bother me."

They just laughed and I handed my unbrella to them to use and walked out, using my hoodie. I never told my Mom because I didn't want to offend her about the unbrella deal. I just hate holding one in the air. Its too big.. LOL

My mom asked me what color I wanted and I chose light blue...because it was just pretty. Do I use an unbrella?

I believe the umbrella was invented between 3,000 - 4,000 years ago. There as evidence in - Greek, Chinese, and Egyptian artifacts. I believe it was mainly used for shade from the sun...I was an art major in College. I would have said England as it rains a lot there, but the various art history courses I remember there were 4 cultures but I can't remember the fourth one.

I have a blue one with a wooden duckie head...and many others. I have them in the house, the cars and large ones for two. I never use them, in Florida it never gets cold rain ...I just buy them thinking I will some day have a need.
