I Need Advice With Phone Company Issues Please!

I have a big issue with my phone company holding me hostage.

 

I have cellular service with Qwest.  My phone bill came in at $513.00. They are unwilling to prorate it.  There is a charge to another city that we do not recognize. They are unwilling to help with this.

 

If we discontinue service, because we have two phones-$400.00 charge!

 

Does anyone know any legal maneuvers I can take on this issue?

Does anyone know of a good cell phone company?

 

Please do not use this service unless you want to be over-charged~!

sounds like a crappy buiness I don't have a cell phone but if I did it would be one where you prepay for your minutes

I can't believe they won't let us make payments! That is insane! I don't like having a cell phone. The only reason I got one was because I sometimes "pass out." When I do, I want to be able to call my husband before it happens. He has a small business going, and the customers call him, and it is a nightmare!

haha i HATE qwest, they are the worse. When i was married, my ex decided to get a "family plan". Well I left like 2 months later, and ya they wouldn't help my situation either...but I couldn't pay the bill, of course the ex put it in my name, he couldn't get the credit for it. Anyway, they disconnected me for non-payment...$200 a phone thats $800...plus the $100 or so i owed them...hopefully they will just "write it off" I can't hurt my credit any...good luck!

Oh Man! There should be a law against this type of thing! Being held hostage to these jerks-is how I feel right now. I do take responsibility for the bill, but they won't work with you! And good luck getting away!

They should take that call off of your bill. It's not your call. Do you know a lawyer? Can you get them to write a letter to the company? If it was me I would just tell them I intend to pay the phone bill except for that call that isn't mine.

I am sorry you are going through this. I am of no help either. I was screwed on a phone bill at one time as well. I even sent the payment in but they sent the check back saying it was paid..Now 11 years later they are wanting their money...needless to say they are out of luck. As I am disabled and can't work now.

I use sprint. I have been with them for 8 years now. the only thing you can do is what I had to do with verizon. I paid the bill in increments. they can charge it off if you aren't paying what they want and send it to a collections agency but they still have to report it to the credit bureau that you are paying it and once it is paid they still have to report it as paid in full. I work as a collections agent in a bank and this is what we have to do by law.
Sprint and I have had our ups and downs but when they are wrong and I point it out they apologize and fix it right away. Pre paids cost more per minuet really. there are places out there that don't have a contract you just have to look.

Sounds like a poor business if they're not willing to fix the problem. That sounds frustrating. I would go with T-mobile... they're always great and have always had great customer service that last 2-3 years of having them.
