If you wish to learn about scams, I can tell you about a few. Here lately, I have signed up for yuwie and have signed up to other opportunities to help me gain referrals. I would say that most of those companies that promise you leads are the real scams. One such as coffeeclubemails.com. They give you links to follow to get paid but, those links often take you to sites that have trojans on them. Ever since signing up for their company and following their links I have had three viruses quarantined. Not to mention the numerous popups that is called the navigation enhancer.
They pop up every few minutes and interfere with what I am reading. As I am typing this, I will probably receive five popups in fifteeen minutes. Not only that but, when I try to rid myself of these popus, sometimes I have to click the x to close three times before they will go away. I am not even sure if coffeeclubemails pays you because I have not been there long enough.
But, take this as a warning, do not sign up with this company if you do not wish to have nasty viruses and even spyware taking over your computer.
And another site called trafficswarm.com. They promise you page views. You sign up and receive the browsing enhancer and then every time you open your browser, Say you have Aol, every time you open your homepage, the trafficswarm tab will be there, gaining you page views. Don't get me wrong, it works but, not in the way you think.. I had been led to believe that it will gain others viewing my page and helping me get referrals. That is not the way it works. It is basically a cheat that could have gotten my account locked at yuwie. It gives me page views from myself and not others. And, that is not a thing that Yuwie or any other site tolerates. It is basically spam. It does not gain you anything other than annoyance. So, please if you want real page views, then just request some from your friends the old fashioned way. Only if they are open to it of course.
Yet another place to stay away from is getref.com. As soon as I signed up for that site and clicking on their links in order to gain credits for page views, something weird happened. After clicking on twenty links and gaining credit, the other twenty links failed and nothing happened. So, I refreshed the page and tried again.. And, the links worked. But, after a time, oddly enough, I saw a toolbar at the top of my page that had not been there before.. A tool bar that I had got rid of a while back.. It mysteriously reappeared. I thought that it was just on that link page but, I was wrong.. For some odd reason, the browser shut down without any warning..
Then, the next thing I knew when it restarted, my McAffee site navigator turned up missing. The navigator told me which sites to avoid and which are fine.. And, it just disappeared. In conclusion, the site obviously corrupted my computer somehow, and should be avoided at all costs. Please take this as a lesson and avoid these common scams. If you wish to get leads, get them responsibly. Chat with only your friends and post in friendly environments such as the tried and true ones.
The trick was that they tempted you with something you wanted more than anything. And, the scheme was to try to lure you there in hopes of something that would never come. In the end, if something does look too awesome to be the truth, then avoid it like the plague, thank you.

Kathryn, thanks for the advice. I have since fixed that navigation enhancer problem.
I found the program and deleted it.
You're also welcome Tabitha.
Bethany, I am happy to be of service.
Ana, you are right. These scams cost us dearly if we are not careful.
Wanda, you're welcome. I am glad I could help you.
Jan, that is so true. Internet surfers beware!
Thanks for the info.
:)
Hey Angela you might want to try out AVAST! to take care of all of those viruses ~ its better than NORTON or MCAFEE!
Needless to say I think that I may still be able to have it repaired by did have to buy a new computer because of it!
Dorthy- I was on yuwie for a very short time because a friend needed the points or whatever. I didn't stay on there - it was too much like myspace. Glad I didn't hang around there!
Natalie, I too have Trend Micro and during a scan found something disturbing. When my scan first began, it listed 14 threats, but when it ended, it notified me that 12 threats were resolved. I called Trend Micro and to make a long story shorter, many hours later they finally eliminated those hidden threats. In other words there is something out there that doesn't show up on their scans. They tried to tell me that it really wasn't a threat. I said, if it wasn't a threat, then why was it recognized and listed in the first place?
Someone should start a petition that would be sent to the "Powers that be," to resolve this before it gets worse?
Bonnie, I had no trouble with trafficswarm when it came to surfing the adds. The trouble came when I had it open with my start page. But, that issue has been resolved now, I took it off my start page, and I left the site.
Teri, you're welcome.
Kimber, you're very welcome.
Dorothy, Yuwie has changed. And, not for the better. That's why I am not on there so much any more. All those adds that pop up at the log in page is ridiculous. And, I am glad to keep everyone informed about this information.
Sandi S., I agree, gather is great. And, I am not new here, I just reposted my first article to the group so it could get more views. It didn't do well the first time around cause I didn't have many friends yet.
Ellen, my computer was fine for a long time..
But, oddly enough, it is acting up again. It keeps going offline. It's our router that is messed up right now. Hopefully, we can figure out what's wrong soon.
Esther, Avast sounds interesting. I might just look it up when my Norton protection expires, thanks.
Sarah, I agree, that some of these sites are a waste of space.
M.J., yes, yuwie has become way too commercial and I don't blame you for leaving.
Sandi, I am glad I informed you.
Renda, you are most assuredly welcome.
Sharon B, you are also welcome.
Marsha, no Yuwie still has not paid me a dime. It's not worth the time. Thanks for asking.
Sharon P, That's good that you can get rid of spam so easily. I am very pleased. Thanks for stopping by.
Christine, you are very welcome.
Natalie, this Trend Micro sounds like it might be just what I need.
As to the "junk" on my computer, and learning a new skill.. That is easy for anyone else to say. Some of us aren't techinally savvy and have to earn our money the best way we know how. Don't knock it till you try it.
Ravi, I'm glad you think so. I am very honored to have you stop by my articles.
Pamela, I am pleased by your words. Thanks for coming by.
Simon, you have a mighty fine argument there. I agree with you. Until then, we're all on our own.
Rosa, thanks for the sentiment. I am very pleased by the number of folks who took the time to stop by and read.
Chas, you are welcome.
Dave, yes, it's very essential info, thanks for saying so.
Amy, thanks for the tip, you are very correct.
Angela, thanks for the info. I usually don't visit any other site than Gather. Just not enough time. (This is a comment link for A Stone's Throw Away. It was written for you're entertainment. Don't click this link until you're in the mood to be entertained.)
Thanks for the the ten Aneta.
Thank you very much Carl for taking time from your busy schedule to come by.
And, you might as well not even try to get me to come to your story. Have you not noticed by now, that romance is my favorite genre?
Your story is well written, but, I am just not into that. Hugs.
Angeleyes, thanks. I am glad you found it informative.
Thanks for the info. In the rush to market online we all run into this kind of mess. I'm always grateful to others for letting me know which sites to skip. Thanks!
Anything for you Suey.
If I have kept your computer from being zapped, I have done my job, Sandre.
You're welcome, Shelbia and Andrea.
Thanks Lora, I love tens!
