Twirling another tube, "Here you'll luv this one honey" she purred revealing the bright pink. "Camilla. Our newest Spring color. Simply a must have, and perfect for that new frock you've found" she added gesturing to the bag at my feet. Eyes like a hawk this one, but never mind. Acquiescing, I nodded and she plucked a new box from the shelf behind her and trotted off to the register and the precarious pile of beauty in a box.
"Damn that man!" muttering to myself, an elderly lady skiddle away as I resheathed my credit card.
$254.35 of therapy later I wander away from the bright lights of the make-up counters and strolled past, why me oh my! Shoes. Duh! What shopping extravaganza would be considered complete without a pair of sweet or slinky sandals to show off my pedicure? Ignoring the rapid decline in my monthly budget I swiped again. The magnetic strip amazingly still worked.
Dangling from my fingers, the prize- a darling pair of chocolate peep-toed kitten heels I tossed mélange of bags into the trunk and listened to it whisper back shut on its own. Not as satisfying as slamming, but luxury does come with a price and apparently gratification for temper tantrums was not one of them.
Ensconced in the warming leather seat, I started the journey back. A cold driving rain started, pelting the windscreen as the wipers whipped back and forth of their own accord. The long drive did nothing to improve my attitude and as I turned off the road like a beacon, the multitude of lights proclaimed I had arrived at my destination. Back home.

I like this lady, right now she is wandering unsupervised amongst the cobwebs in my mind. Who knows? Maybe she'll stick around.
Excellent use of the prompt.
And what's wrong with a little darkness, I'm wondering. I did shoot the image at night, after all. We'll just pretend that the darkness rubbed off on you and seeped into your story.
And thanks Beth, you encourage me to shoot. Not everything sticks, but hey when it does it is good.
Blessings ~
