Do you believe in love at first sight?

I am wondering who out here believes in love at first sight. The man I am now dating tells me it was love at first sight. I don't know if I buy into that but I do wonder what others think about love at first sight. Is it possible? Has anyone experienced it?

I mean I have to be honest I have exerienced it while picking out a new pet ... or outfit .. or pair of shoes. Then the ultimate love at first sight would be when a new baby is born and you see it for the first time .. but a life partner? Who out there believes in love at first sight?

I do believe in love at first sight, although it is probably more like an immediate attraction. I still remember the first time I looked into my husband's eyes.

When I first saw my husband, I was not able to get him out of my mind. I got rather obsessed with him, trying to get him to notice me. One day he asked me out. We went out that night, and when I got home I called my best friend and said, "I'm going to marry that man one day." This June we will be married 29 years..:)

This man says he has big plans for 'us' he is already wanting to take me to meet the rest of his family .. I have met about half of it and his friends and coworkers. He swears we will be married someday! I am crazy about him like he is crazy about me ... so hoping it all works out :)

No. I believe in I want to jump your bones at first sight but that's about it. I think love takes time to grow.

i believe in love at first sight. my husband and i met on 4/20/03 and have been together ever since and will be together forever. i couldn't stop looking at him and he motioned for me to come over, the rest is history.

I believe there can be a very strong attraction at first sight but real love takes time to grow and develop.

I totally believe in it...it was love at first sight for my parents, and they were happily married for 18 years before my mom died...and it was love at first sight for my ex-husband and I. yes we're divorced now, but it was definitely love at first sight for both of us...and it was wonderful.

Research: 50% of men in the study said knew they were in love on the first date. 50% of married women in this study said they didn't know they were in love with their future spouse after 5 dates.

nah, I agree with some of you...lust at first sight. love takes awhile to grow...but I was going to say that love at first sight happened with my kids :)

Yeah I am crazy about him and like him alot but I don't know if I would call it love yet. He says he knew the minute he saw me he wanted me to be his wife. He said love at first sight ... we will see. So far he has been awesome .. one of the best men I have ever met.

I don't know. I never had the chance to experience it with my husband because we had been talking for 7 months before we ever met - and I was already in love with who he was.

I know that I have had immediate attractions, where certain men stopped me in my tracks and I felt connected to them for some reason - but after getting to know them better, we found out there's absolutely no real compatibility, so I really don't know what I think.

Absolutely!! Yes!

My husband and I were a case of love at first sight. On the way home after meeting me, he said to his brother, "I'm going to marry her." (We meet in the E.R. of our local hospital).

We are not only happily married, but also a rare couple that basically doesn't fight. We've had a whole 3 arguments in our time together and the last one was over 5 years ago... I happened to be pregnant, but not aware of the fact yet, and over emotional hahaha.

Sure, there was physical attraction there, but it wasn't "lust" mistaken as "love". Trust me, lust without intense love does not keep a relationship happy and going as long as we've been married... especially with all the hardships we've faced, and still face... ones that typically cause problems in a marriage (money!!).

Thanks Melanie and Michelle ... he is pretty convincing with it when he says it was love at first sight so I guess I will see where it goes. He told his family he is in love too ...

I believe it is possible although I can't say that I have ever experienced it. I don't think you should count him out.

I think it is possible for some.. I have never experienced it like that but I believe some have..

I had to add that I definitely think a lot of times it's physical attraction mistaken as something stronger, but occasionally it does happen.

I can honestly say that I have not had the experience of "love at first sight". I have been through a lot of relationships. Two that have ended up with two deadbeat dads. I will admit that if I was in your situation I would take my time. Enjoy the beginings of a relationship. Also be cautious if he keeps saying the "love at first sight". If it makes you uncomfortable take note of it. I wish you luck! :)

I've never experienced it, but there are people who have and I say "Whatever makes you happy" and stick with your gut feelings! I believe in a strong attraction at 1st site, but thats me. So, now that its October, what happened? Are you still together? I'm just an old romantic soul and nosy too, lol!

I don't know what it is. I have met people that I believe I have known before??? Good question. He sounds very attracted to you!
