Hello everyone, I would like to share my photo of St. Brighid's the Irish famine church on the Lower East Side of New York City. Myself and many of my friends were active in the cause to save it, but it looks like there is no hope. There are no more hearings that I am aware of and it is scheduled for demolition. For those who would like more information, the following is taken from the website

Step Up! Spread the word that St. Brigid's, the Famine Church of the Lower East Side -- a unique jewel of Irish history in America -- is in grave peril and must be preserved. Contact fraternal and cultural organizations, media, politicians, the Archdiocese of New York, your family and friends -- anyone who cares about our history. It's time for all to step up and get involved to save St. Brigid's.

I think that churches should not be demolished unless they are condemmed because of a internal issue with the church being safe for people.
