A Hiker's View of Smith Creek (Mini Photo Essay)

Smith Creek is the resulting waterflow that runs below Anna Ruby Falls. The hike to and from the falls area runs along this waterway. Smith Creek made for some pretty photo shots during my walk along the trail.

I wanted to share a few of those images here.

I think I took about 50 different photos during the hike, but these three are my favorites.

Rose, this is in the Anna Ruby Falls Recreation area just north of Helen, Georgia. I have a photo essay that I posted on Sunday that's on the hike to the cache near the falls in case you missed it.

They're really great photos, Marianne. Man, that water looks freezing! It also looks quite refreshing. Bet it tastes a thousand times better than tap water. Wonder if it's actually clean though? I remember one time when I was a kid my entire family (dad, mom, me, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins) on one side (dad's side) went down on the strip job quite a ways from where we were living at the time to find poke greens (something I'm going to do an article on eventually as part of my "things you never knew could be eaten" series). Anyway, we were at this one spot where there was quite a bit of poke and there was also all these grapevines and a spring running down the side of the mountain. Of course all the cousins were up there swinging from the grapevines, but eventually I remember drinking some of that spring water and that was the best tasting water EVER!

Good job on deleting that comment, Marianne :). I was about to try and find this friend of mine down the street who'll eat anything to eat that Spam. I actually....like...Spam...sometimes (the edible kind that comes in cans, don't everyone turn away in disgust at once) but not the clogging up comments kind.

Beautiful shots Marianne.

We have a really nice walking path that runs along a creek near my home, unfortunatley I don't feel safe walking it alone because its usually pretty deserted and there are some scary people in that area. :(
