Talk about strange; for a variety of different reasons, I haven't been around Gather much, and when I logged on today, everything was totally different. I am not sure I like it; what does everyone else think? Not like I can really complain, because like I said, I haven't been here much, but hey, I have a hard time adjusting to change.
Whether I like it or NOT, though, everything does change. My oldest boy turned 14 last week, and it struck me once again how fast the time has flown by, and how quickly everything and everyone you thought familiar are strangers. It is like this with Eli; he is suddenly tall and looming and eats like a horse, and is also stinky-when did this happen? I had the pleasure of taking him and three of his equally looming friends swimming on Saturday (okay, I was the driver, they SO did not want to be seen hanging around with a mom!); these are boys who, save one, I have known for three or four years, and the changes in them are just as astounding. They are good boys, though; a little loud, a little crude, always hungry, but basically pretty alright boys. I like that they all like ME; not because I care, really, but because a good part of the time they are at my house, and I like to know what they are up to. I am also lucky in that their parents feel the same way; when they are at my house, all is well, and they trust me, and the same goes for them. It's a good deal.
Other things have been happening, too, work and kids and relationship stuff, just life-stuff. Which is part of why I haven't been around much; just-it is too easy to get out of the routine. I have also been a bit of a blog whore and have been posting spradically over at my blog (http:korij.blogspot.com), which is a bit different than here on Gather. For those of you who have asked, yes, I am still here, and I will do better about posting AND commenting; I have missed some of you a lot, just haven't been able to get my crap together lately!

Am I deluded, or do boys go through huger physical changes than girls?? Seems like if I haven't seen some of the boys my kids have been in school with for months or a year, I don't even recognize them.....
Boys do change faster at those ages! We had to stop and by shirts on a trip once because my oldest outgrew what he had packed. Also did new school shoes every two weeks for 6 weeks. Thank goodness we had another one that could use them a few years later.
Glad you are back!
For the most part I am not big on change either - it makes me grumpy.
