My kids have been bugging me for a long time to make the lawn look nicer. There are tons of bare spots, and the side yard is just dirt. I just never had the money to get it done, and when I did it was the wrong time of year to plant lawn. I have been saving a Home Depot GC from Gather for several months until the weather was right to plant. I had a $50 card and $8 left on another from a long time ago. I took my son to Home Depot and we got the soil, seed, and fertilizer today. I also had enough to get a six pack of flowers and a tomato plant. I only had to pay 32 cents!
I had him blow off the yard earlier, so there were no leaves or anything in the area. When we got home, we spread all of the dirt out. I borrowed a seed spreader from the neighbor, and he seeded the lawn. He then put the fertilizer on and then raked it in. I had the task of watering the dirt or future lawn. I hope it works! We have never planted lawn, but we followed the instructions, so it should work. I guess watering is the most important part.
Thank you everyone for the new lawn! I know my kids will enjoy it. We are now saving for fence boards to repair the gate.

I love doing little home improvement things around the yard. I have some ideas I want around my yard. My first thing I want to get is a chain link for my dogs before anything for myself.
Thanks!
Good luck reaching your cash goal this month. I hope being on our Cash Option go-getters list for June helps you get there!!!
