On the drive to Helen yesterday we stopped to find a handful of geocaches in Dahlonega. One of them was an ammocan at the tourism center. I thought it was nice of them to allow a geocache on their property.
When I saw the town square with it's quaint shops and a dixie band playing in the street, I had to take a quick walk around to check things out.

The first place I came to was The Fudge Factory. I took one look in the shop window and I knew I was in trouble. Check out some of the delights we saw inside.

They make all their candies on the property daily. I think I gained 5 pounds simply staring at the items in the case.

All these fudge flavors looked so good. I ended up purchasing peanutbutter and choocolate. It's wonderful stuff too!

Here the one worker was making davinity. I'm not sure of the spelling of this treat and my Oxford Dictionary didn't list it, lol.

As the candies are made, they're left to cool with fans until their ready to be packaged.

I appologise for the photos being a little dark, but I rarely shoot with a flash. I probably needed one for some of these shots since the outdoor lighting was so bright.
I escaped with only the fudge purchase. My roommate bought a dozen truffles.
Hope you enjoyed the "sweet" view from this little shop in North Georgia.

Fun essay Marianne
chocolate covered strawberries.
I could eat every one of them.
Marianne - Did you stop at Nora Mill on your way to Helen? My mother buys all her flours and grains and cereals there and makes all her own breads and cornbreads. It's killer. Cornbread made with Nora Mill's fresh-ground corn will just make you whimper in pleasure...
